Major Daniel R Gable

Biography

Major Gable was born in Ohio and spent his formative years there. Upon completion of college in 1995, he spent six years working in the private sector as a mechanical engineer for Eaton-Aeroquip Corporation. Maj Gable took a leave of absence from his engineering career to join the United States Marine Corps in December 2000. He completed Officer Candidate School in April 2001.

Upon completion of The Basic School, Lieutenant Gable was assigned to Air Defense Training Section, MCCES, 29 Palms, CA. In November of 2002 he was transferred to MACS-4, MACG-18, 1st MAW, Okinawa Japan, where he performed his duties as an Air Defense Control Officer and Squadron Intelligence Officer. Lieutenant Gable deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan as a Senior Identification Director for the Tactical Air Operation Center and an Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Officer. Lieutenant Gable transferred to MACS-1, MACG-38, 3D MAW, Yuma, AZ in December 2004 where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer (S- 3A), responsible for training and preparing 170 Marines to deploy in support of OIF 3.2 and 4.1. Lieutenant Gable was then assigned as the Squadron Intelligence Officer where he was promoted to Captain in September 2005. He served as the Squadron Intelligence Officer, Assistant Security Manager, and Physical Security Officer. Captain Gable deployed to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 3, 3D MAW FWD, Al Udeid AB, Qatar in September 2006. He served as the MARLO and Air Defense Officer for 3D MAW FWD (in Al Asad, Iraq) and USAFCENT/ CAOC for all fixed wing and C2 operations. Captain Gable returned from Qatar and completed his Yuma fleet tour in June 2007. Captain Gable then transferred to USCENTCOM, MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL where he deployed forward to Afghanistan for the Counter-IED Task Force (C-IED TF). Upon his return to Tampa in June 2008, he served as a C4I Systems Integration Officer in CCJ3-C. Upon completion of a year in the Command and Control Group, Captain Gable transferred to the Central Gulf/ Maritime (CG/M) Branch within the USCENTCOM operations directorate (CCJ3-O) where he served as a Maritime Amphibious Operations Officer.

Capt Gable was promoted to the rank of major in March 2011 and in August attended the MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course (MIOC) in Dam Deck Virginia. Major Gable graduated from MIOC October 24th, 2011. He served as a MAGTF Intelligence Officer for MARCENT G-2 and worked with the HUMINT Section and assisted MARCENT’s collections manager in key ISR focus collects of the USCENTCOM AOR. Major Gable deployed forward to Bagram Afghanistan and served as the J2 Operations Officer for Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A). He completed his overseas tour in September 2012. Then, in October 2012 Major Gable transferred to MacDill Air Force Base to serve as the Executive Officer to the Director, USCENTCOM J5 Combined Strategic Analysis Group (CSAG) and Coalition Coordination Center (CCC). Major Gable completed his joint tour at USCENTCOM in September 2013. In October 2013, he began a tour at HQMC, M&RA as an Action Officer for Manpower Management Integration Branch (MMIB-2, formerly MMFA). Major Gable completed his HQMC tour in August 2015 and PCS’d to USCENTCOM in September 2015. He served as the Team Chief of the Multi-domain Web Services and Dissemination Section for J2 Operations Division. In February 2018 Major Gable deployed to USCENTCOM FWD, Al Udeid AB, Qatar where he performed duties as the Operations Officer and Mission Operation Commander for a Coalition Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) Full Motion Video (FMV) Process Exploitation Dissemination (PED) Cell. He redeployed in July of the same year and completed his CENTCOM tour in J2-O on July 31st, 2018. Next, Major Gable transferred to Headquarters and Service Battalion Henderson Hall, where he is currently serving as the HQ Co / A Co Commander.
