The DoD Chief Information Officer (CIO) Annual Awards Program, now in its 22nd year, recognizes individuals and teams within DoD for exceptional achievements within the DoD CIO portfolio of capabilities and/or management practices that advance the strategic mission and objectives of the DoD CIO that advance the Digital Modernization Strategy (DMS) and National Defense Strategy priorities. Such capabilities include: Cybersecurity, Cloud, Information Enterprise, C3, and Electromagnetic Spectrum Superiority.
Subcategories to consider include the following: cybersecurity, cloud computing, workforce and cryptographic modernization, software modernization, portfolio management, DoDIN and Information Enterprise, Command, Control and Communications (C3), Telecommunications, 5G/XG, Electromagnetic Spectrum Superiority and Operations and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing. Select categories of Electronic Records Management and Section 508 are also areas for consideration.

MARADMIN 327/22: CALL FOR USMC NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2022 DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER AWARDS PROGRAM, for information on judging, selection, and nomination criteria.
Nominations must be in Microsoft Word using the required template. No other formats or pdf files will be accepted. Nomination templates (team and individual), further guidance, and examples of winning awards in prior years are posted below. Command (General Officer) endorsements on nominations are not required.
USMC nominations must contain all requested information and must be sent via email to HQMC_DCI_Awards@usmc by COB 20 July 2022. No fax or hard copy submissions will be accepted. Due to the timeline, no extensions will be approved.
