The Kinetic Boot sits on display at the Experimental Forward Operating Base ’14 here May 13. The Kinetic Boot helps reduce battery and power weight as well as efficiently harvests energy during ambulation. Marines from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265, an MV-22 Osprey squadron stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, attended the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Nyutabaru Air Base Air Show, Dec. 1, 2013. The air show was the first public display of an Osprey in Mainland Japan. Prior to the air show, VMM-265 hosted a media relations event Nov. 30, aboard the JASDF installation. Marines load palletized equipment onto a KC-130J Hercules aircraft Nov. 11 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, during preparation for a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission to the Philippines. Super Typhoon Haiyan has impacted more than 4.2 million people across 36 provinces in the Philippines, according to the Philippine government’s national disaster risk reduction and management council.
