NEW YORK CITY -- Country music band Lonestar performed for service members participating in Fleet Week 2003 in New York City onboard the Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum May 24.
Before the performance, a few lucky fans got to meet the country superstars.
Watkins Glen, N.Y. native PFC Jonathan Hoffmeier said, "Lonestar was really friendly. They were thanking us for our service, which I thought was cool because I was thanking them for taking the time to meet us and play for us."
Green Bay, Wis. native PFC Brandon Maes said, "It felt good to be thanked by someone famous. It makes me even more proud of what I do."
The members of Lonestar said they were happy for the opportunity to perform for the service members.
"We're proud to be here. Our military members put their lives on the line everyday, so this is our way to show our thanks," said Lonestar lead vocalist Richie McDonald.
