Chief Chandra Y. Aliu was born in Camden, AR. She originally enlisted in the Navy May 2001. After completing bootcamp, she attended Personnelman “A” school in Meridian, MS.  Her first command was Personnel Support Detachment (PSD) Sewells Point in Norfolk, VA.  During her tour, PSD Sewells Point merged with PSD Naval Station Norfolk.  There she served as a customer service clerk.  Personnel Specialist Second Class Aliu was then assigned to USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) where she served as a transfer clerk.  She then received orders to PSD Afloat Atlantic in Norfolk, VA.  Upon completion of this tour, she attended Disbursing Afloat Automated Systems training in Norfolk, VA, earning the 2905 NEC.  Afterwards, she reported to USS Enterprise (CVN-65) in 2006 to serve in the customer service, educational service office and the separations sections.  This tour was followed by a tour at Transient Personnel Unit (TPU) Norfolk.  There she assisted in starting up the training section and she also served as an administrative clerk.  In 2013, Personnel Specialist First Class Aliu was then assigned to Commander Carrier Strike Group FIVE homeported in Yokosuka, Japan.

In 2016, she received orders to her present duty station at the Navy-Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity.

Chief Aliu’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) and the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
