Cpl. Michael C. Bower, a 22-year-old Cincinnati native and avionics technician with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 261 and Pfc. Daniel J. Sharkey, a 19-year-old Abington, Penn., native also with HMM-261, level the tops of hesco barriers as force protection measures. Hesco barriers are large frames filled with sand that are used as barriers to protect facilities and buildings the Marines are using in the An Anbar Province of Iraq.
