MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (Feb. 23) -- Lance Cpl. Nicholas Green participates in the Marine Corps Trials wheelchair racing competition. The Marine Corps Trials is a part of the Regiment’s Warrior Athlete Reconditioning program which provides opportunities for wounded, ill and injured Marines to engage in both physical and cognitive activities outside the traditional therapy setting. The Wounded Warrior Regiment hosted the Marine Corps Trials to select athletes for the All-Marine Warrior Games team. The Warrior Games will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo. Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. James F. Amos announced Sgt. Maj. Micheal Barrett as his selection for the next Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. Barrett recently returned from Afghanistan where he served as the sergeant major of Regional Command Southwest and I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). He currently serves as the sergeant major of 1st Marine Division at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif. Barrett will replace Sgt. Maj. Carlton W. Kent, who has served as the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps since April 25, 2007.
