U.S. Marine Lieutenant General Daniel O’Donohue, Deputy Commandant for Information Headquarters Company awards U.S. Marine Sergeant James M. Niemeier, Military Information Support Operations (MISO) Non Commissioned Officers with MISO Company, the Navy and Marine Corps Medal at Camp Upshur Quantico, VA on March 16, 2018. The Navy and Marine Corps Medal is the highest non-combat decoration awarded. Sergeant Niemeier was recognized for his quick actions, presence of mind, and selfless behavior which served as a driving force behind preventing a fellow Marine from taking his own life.
