Navy and Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity
Captain Justin C. Platis

Captain Platis attended the Platoon Leaders Class and received his commission immediately following graduation from North Carolina State University in 2013.  Captain Platis graduated from The Basic School in December 2014, before arriving at NAS Pensacola, FL.  Captain Platis completed Introductory Flight Screening, Advanced Primary Instruction, and logged 35 flight hours in the T-6b Texan II aircraft before being redesignated as a Manpower Officer (MOS 0102).

Captain Platis graduated the Basic Manpower Officer Course in June 2016, and served as the Squadron Adjutant for Marine Wing Support Squadron 271 in Cherry Point North Carolina from June 2016 to December 2017 during which time he participated in Weapons Tactics Instructor Course 2-17 in Yuma, AZ.  In December 2017, he was reassigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 2 and served as the Regimental Adjutant from December 2017 to July 2018. 

From July 2018 to May 2020, Captain Platis served as the Admin Department Head of Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico, VA and in July 2019 Captain Platis completed the Civil Affairs Officer Course and earned the AMOS of 0530, Civil Affairs Officer.

Captain Platis is currently serving as the Executive Officer of the Navy and Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity located at the Navy Yard, Washington D.C. and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from North Carolina State University. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Global Affairs at George Mason University.
