U.S. Naval Forces Africa, U.S. Marine Forces Africa, and the Ghanaian Navy will tri-chair the African Maritime Forces Summit / Naval Infantry Leaders Symposium – Africa (NILSA), occurring from 29 April to 2 May 2024 in Accra, Ghana. This historic conference will bring together service chiefs and senior leaders of allied and partner nation Maritime Forces and militaries from over 40 countries. U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Justin Wonders will graduate from Marine recruit training as the honor graduate of Platoon 3270, Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, April 12th, 2024, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Wonders is from Newbury Park, California. He was recruited from RSS Thousand Oaks, California. The company honor graduate is the one Marine in his company who has demonstrated the highest degree of discipline, proficiency, bearing, physical fitness, and basic leadership traits that exemplify the highest standards of the United States Marine Corps. Graduation took place after the 13-week transformation, which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. The new Marines of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, April 12, 2024. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marines Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

The U.S. Marines will take on the Royal Marines in the upcoming Virginia Gauntlet. Events will be held aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico from 16-19 April. Teams will compete in golf, track, soccer, functional fitness, rugby and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. (U.S. Marine Corps video by James Frank)
