Onboarding is the process of integrating new employees into the organization and providing them with the tools, resources, and knowledge to become successful and productive.
The federal government’s onboarding process makes transitioning into a position with the Marine Corps as seamless as possible. This process includes:
- Access to all the documents and forms you’ll need to fill out and have with you on your first day.
- Explanation of the developmental phases and activities you’ll experience over the next twelve months.
- An overview of the roles and responsibilities of your Civilian Marine support community.
As a new employee, remember that you are responsible for being an active participant in your own onboarding. Onboarding works best when it is a two-way process. While the organization provides information, resources and equipment, you ought to be engaged and ready to embrace new ways of doing work and adapt to new office norms and work styles.
