Brigadier General Terry V. Williams Director, Strategy and Plans Division

1.  Director, Strategy and Plans Division

2.  Born in Landstuhl Germany.  Santa Monica HS; UCLA - BS in Mathematics.

3.  Commissioned a 2dLt in the Marine Corps in 1986.  Served throughout the MAGTF, with command and staff assignments at every level.  From 1987-1996 served as Platoon and Co Cdr at 3rd CEB; Series CDR and Bn Adj, 1st RTBn, MCRD SD; Engineer officer, 2nd MAW; Ground Operations Officer, MWSG 27; as well as Operations Officer, Logistics Officer and Engineer Division OIC MWSS 274.  In 1992 deployed to Dade County Florida in support of JTF Andrew as SPMAGTF LNO to the JTF. Additionally, served with 8th ESB, 2d FSSG as a Co CDR & Battalion Staff Officer.

From 1998 to 2008, served as a staff officer at US PACOM deploying to Australia and East Timor to support International Forces East Timor. Other assignments included Aide de Camp for the Commander, US PACOM; XO, Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Leonard Wood Missouri; and CO, 8th ESB, where deployed to Haiti in 2004 in support of Operation Secure Tomorrow and in 2005 in support of OIF. Assigned to Allied Command Transformation Staff Element Europe, as a Logistics Planner for NATO; deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom to serve with HQ ISAF.  Subsequently served as Operations Officer, Facilities and Services Division, I&L HQMC.

In 2009, commanded MCLB Albany.  Was then assigned to HQMC as EA to the DC I&L in 2012. From June 2013-June 2014 served as the Director of Public Affairs. HQMC Public Affairs and Combat Camera were consolidated under the Directorate, Office of United States Marine Corps Communication (OUSMCC) in March 2014. In June 2014 assumed the duties of CG, MCRD PI and the ERR until June 2016.  From June 2016 to June 2017 served as the ADC I&L, Director Logistics Plans Policies & Strategic Mobility.  In June 2017 assumed the duties as Chief, Combined-Joint Logistic Branch, NATO's RS & US OFS, Afghanistan.  In February 2018 he was reassigned as CDR Bagram Airfield and Deputy CDR, US National Support Element- A.  Assumed duties as Director, Strategy and Plans Division, PP&O in August 2018.
