Two recruiters awarded Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal

Staff Sgt. David Mosley, previously a recruiter at Recruiting Station Montgomery, 6th Marine Corps District and Staff Sgt. Valentino Mendoza, previously a recruiter at RS Cleveland, 4th Marine Corps District, receive the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from Brig. Gen. Paul E. Lefebvre, commanding general, MCRD Parris Island/Eastern Recruiting Region.

They distinguished themselves through positive leadership,unparalleled initiative and superlative overall service by volunteering to move more than 1000 miles and take over a recruiting substation.

According to their citation, both Marines moved to a station within RS New York, 1st Marine Corps District. Both Marines'total devotion to duty, personal interest in the professional success of the Eastern Recruiting Region and their ability to positively influence the actions of fellow Marines was exceptionally noteworthy. Their impact will be felt immediately based on their considerable knowledge of systematic recruiting and will aid in the training of Marines under their command and the overall success of the station.
