Red Cross to begin Dental Assistant training program

The next session of the American Red Cross Dental Assistant Training Program will begin Jan. 22.

The program consists of 1,000 hours of classroom and clinical experience over an eight month-long program.

Classes will be from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Participants must have the following qualifications to be eligible for the program:
-- Must be 18 years or older and have a DoD identification card.
-- Complete a CPR/First Aid course and have current immunizations.

Reimbursement for childcare of transportation is not available.

Due to the chemicals and X-rays students may be exposed to through the course, women who are pregnant may not be considered for this program.

Applications are available at the Red Cross office, located on base at the David Grant USAF Medical Center and must be returned by Jan 5.

Candidates will be notified of their selection status within 2-3 weeks.
