Navy and Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity
Captain Ashley S. Milligan

Captain Milligan, a native of Statesboro, GA completed Basic Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in June 2006 and attend Aviation Supply Clerk School in Meridian, MS.

Her enlisted assignments included Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, where she served as an Aviation Supply Clerk in 2006.  In 2009, she served at Naval Air Forces Atlantic, as a Supply Expediter for forward deployed units that were supported by aircraft. 

She was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Program in 2013 and attended Officer Candidate School and began college in 2014.  She graduated from Old Dominion University in December 2015 and subsequently received her commission as a Second Lieutenant.

Her officer assignments included Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group in 2016, where she served as a Manpower and Legal Officer.  In 2019, she served as a Manpower Officer, Legal Officer, Voting Officer, and Sexual Assault Response Coordinator. 

She reported to her current assignment as Executive Officer, Navy and Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity (NAMALA) in September 2022.  NAMALA maintains oversight over the centralized processing and tracking for all Navy and Marine Corps members assigned to appellate leave while awaiting results of appellate review.

She has received the following awards during her time in the Marine Corps:  three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, one Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and multiple letters of appreciation, meritorious mast, and certificates of commendation.
