Navy and Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity
1stLt Joshua E. Thomas was born in Peachtree City, Georgia. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in English and commissioned in 2010 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. After completing the Basic Officer’s Course and Personnel Administration School, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marines as the battalion adjutant. During this tour he deployed to the Western Pacific with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2011 as part Battalion Landing Team 1/1. In 2012, he again deployed as the battalion adjutant to Kajaki District, Helmand Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
In 2013, 1stLt Thomas was then assigned to 1st Marine Regiment as the regimental adjutant. In 2014, he received orders to his present duty station as the Executive Officer for the Navy-Marine Corps Appellate Leave Activity.
1stLt Thomas’ personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
